When I went the grocery store first time I was surpriced too much by plastic bag because my country's customers should pay their plastic bag but this store's plastic bag is free! and I think they should be fewer plastic bags for preservation of nature. I always have too many plastic bags more than I need after I bought something at grocery shop.
It's abuse of plasticbags.
anyway, this country and my country's grocery store both have a express check out counter.
It's very effective for shoppers who buy 15 items or less.

In my country, we have check out lanes, but not express lanes. There's no baggers or cutomers service available, and there's no returns on all items. What i think are the same of two countries is that all the food items are catergorize in sectional areas.

Hmm..I think that America grocery stores are wasteful in comparison with both grocery store. As Jane said, Korean people should buy a plastic bag to get the any stuff so they often go to the grocery store with their own fabric bag to get the stuff. The reason why our government established the thing such as no offer plastic bag is because plastic bag is not going to be rotten into the soil, if it is buried by someone who is illiterate person. That is cause for contamination of the soil.

In my country,grocery stores do not allow cash back.Cash back is only in the USA,as i know. And almost grocery stores provide customer with food-tasting in our country,except seafood. But in my country,grocery stores have many cart,which is provided to customer for free.

This is Wendy. One thing that is different about American grocery store and Thai grocery store.(I'm Thai)I think that is checking out.In my country, there are not the lane that I can check out and pay by myself. The cashier has to do that for me.
The same about both grocery store is the aisle. The aisles are seperated from each kind of items.

I think that the differnce between unite state's grocery store and my country's is the scale or format.
My country's grocery store, for example E-Mart, maybe it is the fusion of grocery store and department store. The contents of it are more similar to those of grocery store, and the scale or format of the building of it is similar to that of department store. E-Mart has about 5 stories in the building and there are many moving-walk systems. But E-Mart sell the essential products like grocery store. So, people buy them at E-Mart.

Not seem very different, which are more evident in the cultural aspects, here is more canned food, great variety of sauces, the amount of promotion on packaging and bonus.
In my country there is more variety of foods to prepare as types of pasta, rice and beans.
